David (John Scott) Ward is an award-winning Australian writer, director, editor and visual artist - among other things - currently based in Melbourne.
His expertise covers film, theatre, television, music video, documentary and dance films, to name a few, and over the course of his now more than decade long career career in the arts, he has worked extensively as an actor, dancer, choreographer, painter, set designer, graphic designer and photographer, to name a few.
This versatility has allowed him to transfer his talents across numerous artistic ventures, collaborators and clients, some of which include Sass & Bide, The ABC, The Australian Ballet, Qantas, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, Orchestra Victoria, Huntrlnd, Bengar Films and AKA Australia.
In 2018, alongside close friend and business partner Melissa Kuttan, Ward founded the production company and content agency, Rattle the Cage.
With a passion for experimentation and a deeply macabre sensibility in his own work, Ward strives to make art that is wholly singular, tells significant stories and challenges and confronts audiences with radical reinventions of form and content.
